OUR HISTORY

In 1976, Hans Vogl founded the headquarters of the internationally recognized Hans Vogl Ballet Academy in Berlin.
As a state-certified, internationally recognized ballet master, choreographer and master student of Prof. Gustav Blank he leads the ballet academy in the style of the Russian methodology of Eduardova and Vaganova.
Hans Vogl’s constant commitment and the high demand for excellently trained teachers ensured that the Ballet Academy quickly became very popular.
Thanks to his wealth of experience and his incredible teaching talent, Hans Vogl trains his students to become aspiring stage dancers in terms of both craft and artistry and paves the way for them to perform on various major international stages.

A quote:

“With young people who work hard for their love for dancing, we walk the path together as students & teachers and teach the prospective stage dancers to become individually professional and artistically active at a high level in a wide variety.

Our aim is for our graduates to be able to call upon their technical skills at all times and to develop an artistic personality. This enables them to meet the high professional demands at a professional level.”

Since 1976, many renowned artists have completed their training under Hans Vogl in Berlin.

Actresses such as Martina Gedeck, musical star singers such as Angelika Milster and the Kessler twins have all undergone years of training with Hans Vogl and have undergone in-depth dance training.

Dancers who danced in the Berlin State Ballet for many years and Olaf Schmidt, who went on to become ballet director in Lüneburg, also completed their professional training at the ballet academy.

Since 1988, Hans Vogl has been regularly invited to international teachers’ seminars and competitions.

This has enabled him to continuously expand his knowledge and keep a constant eye on the state of the international dance world.

Some of his visits abroad include twice chairing the teachers’ seminar at the International Ballet Competition Varna/Bulgaria in 1988 and 1990, being invited to the 50th anniversary of the International Ballet Competition Varna/Bulgaria in 2014 and visits to Tokyo/Japan ( 2014-2022 ) and Seoul/Korea ( 2016-2019 )…

THE BALLET ACADEMY

In 2010, the Ballet Academy moved to Steglitz/Friedenau, to Rheinstr.45-46 in the Görzhöfe, a large listed former factory complex.

The location is directly connected to Walter-Schreiber Platz by the U9 underground line and the S1 Feuerbachstrasse. Various buses also run directly on Rheinstrasse. The many different tenants from various sectors create an atmosphere of artistic diversity throughout the site.

There are four light-flooded rooms, two checkrooms and a cozy lounge for discussions and breaks between lessons available to the students on around 900m².

The three-year recognized vocational training to become a stage dancer focuses on classical dance. It is based on two classical training sessions per day.

The practical lessons are supplemented with contemporary and improvisation, jazz/modern, character dance/folklore and classical dance repertoire.

The course also includes theoretical subjects such as dance history/music, German and anatomy, which are essential for knowledge of dance as an art form.

He passed his teacher’s examination with the grade 1 and is, in my opinion, one of the most talented teachers in this artistic field. His sincere human attitude, his skill and his ability to deal with students prompted me to appoint him as my substitute on several occasions. The pleasing response he received in his lessons convinced me of his high educational qualities!”
