EDUCATION
The most important prerequisite for training as a stage dancer is the love for dancing, as well as the enthusiasm to use all your strength, dedication and energy! However, this does not develop by itself, but is rather awakened and encouraged by a ballet teacher during the childhood and adolescent years. Only then is there a chance that a spark will ignite and a career in dance will begin.
We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic young people who are prepared to give their all for their career goal!

Classes are held in English and German.
Our vocational education generally lasts six consecutive semesters with a final examination in practical and theoretical subjects. The prerequisite for participation in the final examination is the successful completion of two intermediate examinations after the 1st and 2nd school year. Lessons are generally held from Monday to Friday, with free periods usually between 3pm and 6pm. Free periods are usually about 8 weeks in the summer, 2 weeks in the fall, 2 weeks at Christmas and one week at Easter. (This is based on the Berlin school vacations). Public performances take place at the theater once or twice each school year. The technical skills learned are worked out in choreographies and presented on stage, which is essential for the further development of a professional artistic stage personality.
The minimum age of the students is 16 years (declaration of consent from the legal guardian)
a completed school education (school leaving certificate can be submitted after audition)
a good state of health (certificate of fitness for sport)
previous dance training in classical and modern dance.

The entrance examination consists of participation in a training course in classical dance (90 minutes), a training course in modern dance (90 minutes) and the presentation of a choreography from the classical or modern repertoire. In a personal interview, we find out what theoretical knowledge the student has in the artistic field.
The audition fee of € 35.00 is payable once at the time of the audition.
The educational contract is concluded for three school years, whereby the first school year is considered a “trial year” and can be terminated after one year with a notice period of three months to the end of the first school year.
The school fees amount to € 5,100.00 per school year and student.
The school fees can be paid in monthly installments of € 425.00 per month; always at the beginning of the month, at the latest on the 10th of the month.

Child allowance: Parents are entitled to child allowance for their children in education up to the age of 25.
Health insurance: (private) health insurance contributions are paid by each individual.
Employer’s Liability Insurance Association: For accidents at school and commuting accidents (accidents on the direct route to and from school), students are insured under the statutory accident insurance scheme with the Verwaltungsberufsgenossenschaft.

STAGE DANCE EDUCATION
Focus: Classical Dance
In the three-year professional training program to become a classical stage dancer, the focus of the classes is on classical dance and contemporary dance.
Our students learn, deepen and consolidate the entire movement vocabulary and technique of classical dance according to the Russian methodology of Waganova and Eduardowa. They also learn modern dance techniques and numerous contemporary styles and movement concepts.
We expect our students to pursue their goal of becoming professional stage dancers with passion and love.
In addition to excellent technical skills, our aim is to develop the dancing personality of each individual student and to prepare him or her optimally for a professional career as a stage dancer.
Hans Vogl, founder of IDAB, leads the professional training with a focus on classical dance.
We attach the utmost importance to the excellent dance and pedagogical education provided by our teachers, who not only teach the students movements and dance techniques, but also do everything they can to help them achieve their goals with enthusiasm, perseverance and joy.

PRE-EDUCATION
6-month Intensive Program
If you have not yet made the decision to pursue full-time training and are not yet 100% sure of your career goals, we offer the intensive pre-education program for stage dance.
In this program, previous experience is of course a prerequisite and your dance skills will be raised to a more intensive level.
It then makes sense to create the right conditions and foundations to reach a more professional level in training. In the preliminary education, the focus is on learning how to train professionally.
The students learn and internalize a technical basis, placement, discipline and improvisation. Musicality is trained and artistic personality development is encouraged.
Furthermore, girls are introduced to pointe technique and boys to large jump and turn variations.
INTENSIVE PROGRAM
Our intensive pre-education program lasts 6 months (usually September – February) and multiple participation is also possible.
The program consists of 2 classes (90 min. each) daily (Monday-Friday), either in the early evening or in the morning.
One training in classical dance and one training in contemporary dance or repertoire.
Admission is possible throughout the entire year and is based on participation in a training session in our pre-education program.
The minimum age is 13 years. You should have good physical anatomical prerequisites for classical dance.
Furthermore, musicality, self-discipline, stamina and enthusiasm are essential qualities that should be brought along.
The total fee for the program is € 1,750.00 and can be paid in monthly installments of € 350.00 at the beginning of the month, but no later than the 10th of the month.
